New art teacher, Erica, perturbs Louisa with her unorthodox methods, and Martin when she moves in
next door to him, though Martin establishes that her fainting fits may play a part in her odd behaviour.
Dr Timoney also becomes a patient after an automobile accident and begins to act strangely. Martin
has additional problems with an America tourist and a devoted elderly wife. Bert returns to being a
handyman after his failed whiskey making venture and Penhale's offer of a career move to Exeter is
much affected by his growing relationship with Janice.
