Martin and Louisa meet with the fertility specialist who tells Louisa that she needs to try to keep her stress levels down and that Martin needs to be an emotionally supportive spouse and not her doctor. Joe goes to a beach surf shack to take a report about vandalism and discovers that the surfer is an old classmate of his. He convinces Joe that he should learn to surf, but their lesson is interrupted when the surfer’s wife goes into labor. Morwenna is called to the emergency and then Martin and Louisa arrive to help her deliver the baby inside the surf shack. Louisa has fixed up the former phlebotomy room to use as her consulting room and her instructor oversees her first consultation with a young woman. Caitlin has taken over the pub and sends Al up to take care of the shop. Al comes up with a new scheme to use the produce that is getting too soft to sell by setting up a pop up cafe in front of the shop. Dr Mullen has returned to the village on a visit and seeks a second opinion from Martin. He is impressed when Martin diagnoses a much more easily treated condition that won’t require surgery, but tells him that he is still on thin ice with the GMC.
