I had a very difficult time finding this location, but one day, while using Google Street View searching for another location, I stumbled across the green wooden gate - and there it was. This farm is in the tiny hamlet of Bowithick, just southeast of the Davidstow Airfield. In the pictures below, you can see the green farmhouse, the long stone barn, and the stone house across the road. |

Bert is sitting on a bench overlooking the village reading Jenny's letter. We see tears on his face as he tears up the letter. This is a bench that has been used several times for filming - up on the hillside at the top of Roscarrock Hill. The bench is circled in red and The Surgery circled in yellow. |

Janice's flat is a cottage near the top of the village called "Albany". It's located on Fore Street shortly after it turns away from the harbour. This cottage was in the middle of being updated at the time of the filming. I've included pictures below showing the cottage before the reconstruction, during, and after. In the first picture, red lines show which part of the building is Albany cottage. The yellow door and windows to the left are a cottage called Samphire and was used as Peter Cronk's home in Series 1. On the right, behind Albany, is a cottage called Fronthill House (circled in yellow). This was the location used in S8E2 when Louisa visited a young student who was hiding in her bedroom closet. |

Aunt Ruth walks into the coffee shop and sees Louisa at the counter. This was filmed in the May Contain Nuts shop on Fore Street, just up the hill from The Golden Lion pub. This shop carries official Doc Martin merchandise and is the place to book Doc Martin tours of the village. |

Radio Portwenn has moved several times, and this series it was housed in a small building on the harbour at Port Gaverne. This is the third time this building has been used in Doc Martin production. In Series 2 it was Al's fixer upper house, and in S6E8 Martin visited Wild Bill in this house to give him a proper medical examination. The house had been painted white in the past, but when used this time was a light blue. In two of the photos below from the Google Street View, one was when the building was really falling apart, and the other one was during the filming - you can see the Radio Portwenn sign on the gate. |

Sometime after this series was filmed, the building was either torn down, or completely rebuilt into a new cafe. Pilchards is a owned by the Port Gaverne Hotel located just across the road. In the first picture below you can see the building under construction. |

Janice and James meet Louisa at the school gate as Louisa is leaving school for the day. Penhale arrives with two ice cream cones and lets slip that James was left alone for a few minutes when Janice was locked out of the house. |
