With Martin living in his tiny cottage, most mornings he takes the same route to the Surgery. Through the narrowest part of Squeeze Belly Alley, turn right onto Dolphin Street, turn right onto Middle Street, turn left at the Platt onto Fore Street, and then turn right up Roscarrock Hill. There are a couple of instances where he turns right out of the cottage, down the lane to Fore Street, and left toward the Platt. |

A short scene shows Bert driving the camper van to Aunt Joan's farm. This was shot on a road along the coast just south of Crackington Haven. Interestingly, it is the exact same spot that was used in Series 1, Episode 1 when Martin stopped and asked the fishermen for directions to Aunt Joan's farm. |

Joe is using his radar gun on the side of the road. Janice comes by wheeling James in his pushchair and then he stops Bert in his camper. This was filmed on the road just outside Port Gaverne. |

This was filmed at a large country estate called Prideaux Place, just outside Padstow. The grand estate, completed in 1592, is the family home of the Prideaux family, and has been now for 16 generations. In the episode we saw one exterior shot, a couple of scenes in a bedroom, a couple of scenes in a kitchen, and Martin walking down a staircase. I was able to find photos of one of the staircases that matches the one Martin is on - with the exception of the window. But in the photo you can see another staircase through the doorway, so it may have been that one that was used for filming. I also found a picture in a magazine article of a bedroom in the estate and it matches the one they used for the DM scenes - including all of the furniture and the bedside lamps. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find a kitchen picture, but the one used for the filming certainly looks like it would belong in such a grand house. This estate is often used for filming and has been the location for 14 different German language productions of Rosamunde Pilcher stories. |

Louisa is seen walking her class up Roscarrock Hill past the Surgery with their inflated planets for a school outing. We then see them on the large open field at the top of the hill, where one of the children falls ill and Martin is called to attend to her. This hill is reached by walking up to the end of the road (Roscarrock Hill) and then taking a path to a long set of steps built into the hill. At the top of the steps is a wooden bench that has been used several times in filming. The whole open field up there has also been used several times. Below are pictures I found - one looking up the steps and one that looks down from the top. In 3 of the pictures, the red arrow points to the Surgery. |

As Martin and Peter are driving back to the village, they go around a curve and you can see that spot on the road just outside Port Gaverne. Although they are correctly driving east along the coast (Padstow to Port Isaac), they are actually east of Port Isaac. |

When Martin and Louisa are heading to the hospital, they drive through an area that is often used for filming. This is a road that bisects the abandoned Davidstow airfield, and is not a heavily traveled road, so we have seen some of this same scenery several times. The map below shows the approximate place on the road, and the direction of the camera angles for each of the three shots. |

This cottage is located in Port Quin, which is just west along the coast from Port Isaac. The cottage is the north half of the brick building that sits right on the harbour and is often photographed due to the two bright yellow doors. I believe they used the interior of this cottage (called Quay Cottage) because of the 16 pane windows that match the exterior. I found a blog online with a memory of the cottage and the person mentioned the ceiling beams that were made from ship masts. I suspect the bathroom scene might have been filmed in another place because that window style does not appear on this building, but there are a couple of other buildings on the harbour with similar windows. |

Leaving the hospital, Martin and Louisa rush to Peter Cronk's house to attend to his mother. We can see them driving on the road toward Port Quin, and then again turning the corner into the harbour. The circles on the maps below indicate the locations of the car in those scenes. |
