An exasperated Louisa has taken baby James to stay with Eleanor in Spain, hoping for time to think over
the future of her marriage. She has only rung Martin once - and to his annoyance the whole village
knows. Martin is also concerned for lifeboat captain Steve Barker, whom he believes to have testicular
cancer and who is being televised for the lifeboat's centenary. When Steve blacks out and crashes the
boat on a deserted cove with Morwenna on board, Martin comes to the rescue and discovers that Steve
has tried to deceive him in order to keep his position. Finally, Martin agrees to see therapist Rachel
Timoney, but whilst they are in session Louisa phones.
