The ice cream truck is parked outside the school and a large number of children are gathered around. Joe walks up and starts telling the driver that he has to move the truck. Janice arrives at the other widow and Joe starts flirting with her. All of a sudden, a young girl walks out into the street and is frozen in place when she sees Dr Timoney driving down the road. Dr Timoney sees her in time and swerves to avoid her, crashing into the produce displays in front of the market. Joe runs over to the girl, sees that she is unhurt, and then he sees a push chair rolling down the hill. Thinking that it is James Henry, he makes a heroic run down the hill to stop the chair before it runs into a parked backhoe that has large, scary looking metal spikes. Joe saves the day, but discovers the push chair is empty and he looks up the hill to see a woman holding her baby. |

Joe is standing on the Surgery porch and receives a phone call from Salter asking if he has decided to take the transfer. Salter is by a beach, leaning against his police car eating an ice cream cone. This location appears to be somewhere along the beach just north of Padstow. |

Al is in the Fish Cellars making a purchase and Joe walks in to get his opinion on the transfer decision. Al spots Bert walking by and goes outside to the slipway to ask him how he is doing trying to find handyman work. Just then, Erica walks up and asks him to look at the sink in her kitchen. |

Erica's house sits right on Squeeze Belly Alley, directly across from Martin's cottage. The red door leads into the kitchen. This cottage is actually Honey Cottage and the main entrance is on Dolphin Street right around the corner from the narrow passageway. The front door to the cottage is very distinctive with the diamond shaped moulding on the amber glass window. As happens often for filming, they used this cottage just as the interior was to be remodeled and the pictures of the actual cottage below are a mixture of before and after. |

Joe is standing at a railing overlooking the harbour and is continuing to sound out villagers about whether he should transfer to Exeter. First Dr Timoney stops by and he tells her about his dilemma, but it soon becomes clear that she isn't focused on him and she wanders away as he is talking. A little later, Janice comes by with James Henry. She tells him she will miss him if he goes. He says he doesn't have to go, and she kisses him on the cheek and takes his hand. This area is at the top of Roscarrock Hill, just past Northcliffe. It's a small parking area for the occupants of Northcliffe Cottage and a nice viewpoint for people walking up the hill. |

Bert is walking through Squeeze Belly Alley and about to walk down Dolphin St when he meets Aunt Ruth walking up. He complains to her about his fruitless efforts to make a living as a handyman, and bemoans that he had to give up the whiskey business. He hands her his flyers, suggests several options to dispose of them, and heads down the lane. Aunt Ruth bins the flyers and continues walking up toward her cottage (circled in yellow on the map) |
