It's school time and Louisa is stressed at the thought of new students and new parents. Martin isn't
helping by being totally oblivious to her needs. He wants to register their new baby, James, for St
Benedict's prep school but Louisa is anything but keen on the idea. Several of the children have
relatively minor crises requiring Martin's attention but Louisa also has to deal with the school caretaker,
Mr Coley, who seems particularly absent-minded and forgetful. Martin tells Joe Penhale's ex-wife
Maggie that she's healthy enough to travel and while she makes arrangements to leave, Joe takes
steps to convince her to stay. When Martin sets the date for James' christening without first discussing
it with Louisa, it creates a rift between them that may be irreparable.
